About Me
Copyright 2009 Danny Fisk
I was born near the end of World War II and started seeing little music notes fluttering
around my head about ten minutes later.
I started tuning soda bottles filled with water at about four years of age, piano lessons at
five, viola lessons at nine and alto sax at ten. My older brother and I enrolled in band
class in school. He was in the seventh grade, I was in the fourth grade. I played the sax.
At age thirteen I had the opportunity to go on a world tour as a semi-novelty with Sammy
Incordona and his Orchestra. My position was playing the baritone saxophone, and the job
included academic tutoring, and strict adult supervision. My parents would not let me
leave home so young, but they did agree to let me play my first pro gig at age thirteen at
a club called The Brass Rail with three adult musicians. What a ride since then.
I was the front man for the latest group I played with. We played at the Jazz'SAlive
festival in the fall of 2008 and our number "Stealing a Moment" placed 85th in national
radio airplay.
At present I am playing solo gigs in San Antonio and surrounding area for venues,
Chamber of Commerce functions and private parties and I'm having a blast doing it.
